What's up with my Roo??

I have a 7 wk old roo and two 6 wk old girls. My roo has been chasing and pecking my girls on their backs and just being rough ( no aggression towards me and he is not really hurting the girls). But isn't it a little early for him to start being hormonal? What should I expect as my Roo grows? Also I am a first time Roo owner.

I've had a few rowdy young roosters. It's hard to say if it will improve or not. Usually mine would given more room and freedom at that age so the behavior mellowed at bit before hormones kicked in. How big of an area are yours in?

A 34x39" brooder.

Sounds like they're old enough to go out in the coop, where they should have more room.

I agree, it may be time for more room to run, and flap to burn off excess energy, which I wish I still had.
