Let me say, I don't honestly care all that much, I'm just curious. All of my birds that have started laying(21 wks old 8BO, 5RIR, 3 SLW, 2 BG)with the exception of one RIR have been laying little tiny eggs. Most ares lightly larger than an elongated Ping-Pong ball. I thought they laid bigger ones? Any thoughts? I know it's not cause they don't get enough to eat....

I figured it would be something like that. I'm not worried at all. The first one that started laying was the RIR and she was laying regular eggs. Then everybody else has slowly chimed in with these quail sizers!!!

I'm getting cute little quail size green eggs from my Ameraucanas that just started laying. I hatched the birds myself so I know they came from large green eggs so I'll just be patient. They are so cute though I told my DH not to cook them that I was going to blow them out and preserve them. He bought be a tiny little drill bit, about the size of a large needle. They are just too cute to break open. If I'm successful with drilling a small hole and blowing them out I'll dry them and put them on display in a little bird basket.

I remember the small eggs when my girls first started laying. I have to say though, that those small eggs were exceptionally rich in flavor. It might take 1/2 dozen for an omlet, but OMG, what a meal !!!

I love those pullet eggs! They are so cute! If ya' wanna see something funny, its my golden sexlink's egg (triple yolker) next to a pullet egg. So cute in the pan, also. We were tickled when the teens started laying these!
