We have 13 hens in a coop at the 4h farm. Their run is about 8x16, and the coop is maybe 5x5. There are 5 nesting boxes. We used to get an average of 10 eggs a day, but lately we're down to 2 or 3. !!??!!?? I'm sure there is pecking going on but we rarely see it happening. The 2nd pic below is of the scraggliest looking hen I've ever seen... the picture doesn't do it justice. She's a mess. Most of the other birds' feathers look like they've been nipped off at the ends - instead of a smooth, round feather, it's v-shaped (like in the 2nd picture of the grey bird). I can't see any mites or lice on them but I don't know if I'd be able to recognize it if they were there. Help!! Any ideas on what's happening with the laying and their appearance?
