I'm posting a pic of this chick. Most of you will probably say this chick is just sleeping and chicks sleep a lot. Yes, I know they sleep a lot. But w/ this chick it is constant. Like 24/7. It's almost like there is something else wrong w/ this chick and I don't know what it could be. Whenever I go to check on them as they are not in my house they are in my feed/tack room in a brooder this chick is ALWAYS a sleep. It is not active and running around like my other chicks. My other chicks will just run past it in the brooder when they are playing and being silly and this chick doesn't get involved, it just sleeps. It never really opens it eyes b/c it's constantly sleeping. It never really lays down it's always in this position. You can see some of the other chicks in the background and yes they are resting, but some of them have there eyes open and are alert. This is how this chicks acts all the time. What could possibly be wrong?

I had a buddy that would do a very similiar thing in college....lock the doors to the booze

yup...no help

re-dip the beak in the water to make sure it's drinking. De-hydration is the most common problem with young chicks...maybe get some vitimins/electrolytes in the water to help perk him/her up. Could just be the birds personality, or that it's being picked on by the others as it seems to be away from the crowd....yes, even as young as a few days they start working out their pecking order...HTH

Any suggestions on a good vitamin/electrolyte to get? I don't want something that has chemicals in it as I only feed organic.
