I have got a disease going around in my coop and I dont know what it is. First sign of it was when my rooster would just stand still all day and would not move. The next day he was laying down outside the coop on his side. He could not get up. Now I have a hen that acts as if she is drunk that she walks and then falls over, and when she stands still she just falls. And then I have another rooster that has a green butt. Does anyone know what going on, and if I need to separate them from the rest of the chickens?

Are they emaciated???? It sounds like they are emaciated... Green poop dehydration/malnutrition.. Send some photos.. possible Mareks. It is swift like that.

more information... age, breed, feed, type of housing etc... How many are ill??? Egg production??? Etc.. Would love to help but need more to go on,.

Remove all sick birds immediatly and get fresh ground for the ones that don't appear ill... check your feed for spoilage or any excess on the ground for spoilage... could be from excess grain on the ground or wet grain or tainted feed also...

Take your vitamins, this is a taxing adventure. (for you not the birds)

I don't know what is going on but yet - you should separate them. Whatever they have is most likely already in all your other chickens but at least the sick ones will have some solitude to potentially heal.

Try upping the protein for the sick ones, catfood can be a good treat for this.

Good luck!

Cranberry capsule pushed into their crop with an almond or clove of garlic may help the ones in the last stages.. Try this as a last resort and let me know if it works... I have been told about this remedy.. I would use it no matter what is going on....
