I have noticed that my Dutch/Old English Game Bantam's comb recently. Why does it look like this?

His mom is a solid black old english game and his dad was a bb red Dutch he looks just like his father. Sadly his father was lost due to a hawk incident... I discovered the body and it crushed me...
