What's wrong with my eggs......

@ronott1 moisten the outer membrane?? Or the inner One?
The inner membrane after you get shell exposed. You will also be watching for bleeding. If there is a lot of blood, you will need to stop for a while. Make sure the duckling can breath--nothing blocks the airway. If possible you can also use a dropper to give it a drop of water

Keep going? Membrane still on the shell at this point.

Go slowly but I do not see too much blood. Work on clearing the head and try getting a feeling on if the yolk has absorbed. It is ok to get the head out and if the yolk is absorbed, remove the rest of the shell. Be careful because some times there is a bit of umbilical cord attached to a piece of yolk. That cannot be pulled on or the intestines can come out.

It is a bit like chicken surgery

It has some yolk on its beak but I haven't seen any gurgling. I'm really not confident to be pulling more off right now. I knicked a vein with #1 last night and spent the full hour wait crying.....

There will be blood--that is a part of it. I have to take calming breaths sometimes but push through. It is tough but worth it when you have a nice healthy new flock member!

Keep the membrane moist with a bit of coconut or similar oil. The bit of yolk is the goo from not correctly absorbing the yolk. It may still have a bit of egg sack and the umbilical cord to watch for
