What's wrong with my hen

Hi

I have had four red star hens for just almost a year and one of them isacting very peculiar. She is the only one of the four that doesn't lay and is also the sleekest and the most active abut since last night she just stands in one place all puffed out. They free range during the day and she was like that when I found her last night. I put her in the coop with the others but I don't think she hardly moved all night. She's still in the same place this morning although the other three were as anxious as ever to get out and roam this morning. There was a soft shell in the coop that might have come from her.

Any suggestions? What should I be looking/feeling for?

Are you sure she isn't laying if she laid a soft shell egg she could need calcium I would do a search using the search button in the blue bar for egg bound or soft shell eggs see if you can find anything that matches your hen. Here are 2 links that might help.

Actually I'm not absolutely -100% sure she wasn't laying or that she was the one that laid the soft shell but she seems to have laid another. She also seems to be back to normal this morning which is super! I do feed them their shells regularly as a source of calcium and occasionally oyster shell as well. I had problems with soft shells when they first started laying but for the most part their shells have been very strong ever since.
