Whats wrong with the head feathers?

She looks like her head feathers and wet but they aren't, they are hard tho...

It almost looks as if wet dirt or feces got on the crest and dried/hardened there.

Wash them

Lol, yes she has had her head in mud, or water and then dirt. Just hold her firmly under your arm over a small bowl of warm water, dunk her crest in and work out the dirt with your fingers, rubbing the feathers gently . Don't submerge her face. Then towel dry. Her feathers will pouffe out when they dry. Polish can't preen their crest feathers like they can their other feathers.

So quick question,
Do I hold her upside-down or what?

Kind of on her side if you can, tucked under your arm to keep her wings from flapping. Wrap a towel around her body if that helps. It should only take you 5 mins
