Whats wrong with this chicken?!

We are in OR so wet wet wet.

How would I know the difference? Just treating and see if it helps?

In any case, I had to order the stuff online because the medicine is not OTC here. I figured driving out, paying for a vet etc and the stress doing so would make that worth it but now, if it could be something else... hmmm I hope it is not something else!!

I can't read the PFD somehow, it opens but is gibberish. Could you send me the info in another form?

ETA never mind made it works!! I can read it now. And reading the description of the canker disease it really fits that rather well. This chicken is 4 yo, is this a normal age for them to start getting sick more? What compromised her immunity?

Thanks everyone.

I agree that it appears to be canker. I once thought a rooster I bought had canker in his throat and was about to put him down when I decided to check it again. Turned out to be clumps of feed stuck to the sides of his throat, thank goodness. Sure did fool me for a few minutes. What I see in your picture seems to me to be canker because of the studying up on it I was doing at the time. It does make her a carrier for life and she can infect other birds, even after she's well. Sorry you're having to deal with this, poor bird.

Oh, so should I then give them all the copper sulphate periodically? Or what could I do preventively for the flock?
At least I know she is eating, she ate a bowl of yogurt and a sardine today. She was struggling with some sardine stuck in her mouth for a while and was gasping for air but was fine later.
Gosh, I sound like one of those crazy chicken people

"Copper Sulfate Medication

Use 1 gm (0.035 oz) of Copper Sulfate (bluestone) to 2 litres (3.52 pints) of water – be very careful about the measurements of the Copper Sulfate too much will kill your bird

Add 2 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar

Mix in some Cranberry Juice to make it more palatable for the birds to drink and disguise the taste of the copper sulfate and vinegar

Give this medicated water as the sole source of drinking water for 4 to 7 days, in some cases you may need to extend this time until you feel that the disease outbreak is over

Do not use metal containers only plastic ones

Put the mixture out fresh each day."
