Bless you for giving the little one a chance.

Save a chick sounds like a good idea. I have not used it myself, but have seen others. You may want to do a search on that just to be sure first.Ok. I'm trying to narrow down what is going on. He is now at the point that if I hold his body like he's standing by his food and water without holding the bowls up to his beak he will eat and drink on his own, holding his own head. When he is laying down he flops it over usually. I have seen him sitting on his legs with his head up. It seems like he can sit up for a time on the lower part of his legs but as soon as he pushes to stand that's where he can't hold himself and he goes flopping around. He's also very exhausted...sleeping or laying in his floppy sleep position a lot. I was thinking of giving him also the save a chicken vitamin electrolyte pack. Is that ok to give to him?
so I ended up getting it anyway and put some electrolytes and probiotics in his water just to help with stress and gut health. I also ended up giving him a little olive oil since he hadn't gone potty since the morning. He had some pottys overnight and this morning doesn't have floppy head. Still cant stand but I'm hoping that as he gets more niacin in him that wil help. It's amazing to me if they are lacking that one vitamin (niacin) how drastically it affects them. Since it's so important for them to have that is there a feed that comes with it? I'm slightly irked since before he hatched I spent so much time at the feed store talking to them about feed for him and my other Pekins...and these people raise ducks too.
I was worried about him hurting himself since his energy is up and he basically is bouncing off the walls trying to stand and flipping over, getting stuck that way...It's just so painful to watch. I didn't know if there was a way for me to stop or at least try to contain him from hurting himself? Or are they pretty hardy
