What's wrong with this duckling?

I have been giving the niacin for 3ish days and have seen an improvement:) I was worried about him hurting himself since his energy is up and he basically is bouncing off the walls trying to stand and flipping over, getting stuck that way...It's just so painful to watch. I didn't know if there was a way for me to stop or at least try to contain him from hurting himself? Or are they pretty hardy
Are you saying he was on his side in water for a couple of hours. My goodness it's a wonder he didn't drown, please until he is fully recovered do not leave him unattended in water.

No no! He is on his side in his house for a few hours. He's only in water for a few minutes with me lurking

He was floating in water on his side for 2 hrs? I am amazed he didn't drown, while he is going through this I wouldn't leave him unsupervised in water. you maybe able to fashion a sling for him some how, i have seen people do this. that way his legs are hanging down through the sling which keeps him upright while you are not giving him physical therapy

I would personally say contain him. he may want to run around but keep him in close areas so he can rest a while. you can give them niacin in water but the concentrated syringe dose takes effect faster. not only because its stronger but that most of there water the splash around so there not getting the does they need. if niacin is showing signs of working try the concentrated dose. it will hopefully take an effect in just a few days.

He can't actually run, or stand :( Not since Thursday. He just backs up and flips over and gets stuck... If I give him a concentrated dose of Niacin or Brewers Yeast...how much should that be? I have both

Well not sure about brewers yeast but with niacin i gave my bird a quarter of a 100mg crushed with water in a syringe. hes a rouen so a large bird. becuase this is a ducksling your looking and probably half that so like an eighth of a 100mg tablet just a little haha and see how he does. is you see improvement in 2 days or so continue the dose until hes fully recovered if not try a higher dose so a quarter of a 100mg tablet. mine was better in just a few days. he hadnt walked for months and i think 4 days of niacin he was the old duck again :D

We were making progress. This morning he was in the tub swimming for the first time since all this happened..at least he was even on both sides. He also has control of his head but seems to have developed a wry neck, but somtimes can straighten it out. This evening he was back to swimming on his side. The mouth breathing in the video goes away when he's in the water. He is on flock raiser, niacin, and sav-a-chick. I was wondering for anyone that has gone through this if the recovery has forward and backwards days. Oh also the video doesn't show that when he tries to go to the bathroom he freaks out trying to run backwards..sometimes flipping sometimes not.
Thanks
