whats wrong with this little chicks leg??

I'm not 110% certain that you need a script for penicillin in TSC but it's always best to check. Since you need one and know a nice vet or bird vet you could get one of those leg pics that shows that redness and swelling and ask if you could get the penicillin for it. If the bird vet or vet have it they might be able to give it to you instead of buying it at TSC. Sorry I'm being kinda vague but I'm by no means a legallity professional.

I put the cold wet rag in its leg for awhile. Did it 3 times. Just kept refreshing the cold rag.
Should I put ice in the rag or would that be too cold? And how long should I hold the rag there?
Im probably not gonna go buy penicillin for the meat bird. It's just probably more th than its worth. I don't live near any TSC, I think its about 30mi or maybe a little more. I'm just gonna see how long he can make it.

He's still hoping up to go eat and pooping fine. It's just he dosent scratch around like the rest of them. He just looks around alot.

Try if you haven't already, to get them some calcium booster for their water. In people if your legs aren't strong enough for your body your joints swell and hurt. I would hold the rag on until where it's touching the chick it gets warm. I would do that 2-3 times a day if you can. I'm sorry your little chick has this, hope she gets well!

It looks like bruising to me, if it was sudden and you say the chicks are rowdy during feeding then it probably just sustained a knock I would keep it rested for a while maybe separate it with 1 other chick for company until it heals but it should recover on it's own without the need for antibiotics, try to keep the feeders constantly full and give them enough space too to stop them scrambling into one another.
