I'm beginning to believe that there is someone implanting some sublimal messages here onto this message board. We first started reading when we considered getting a few chickens just to see if we could do it. The very next day we went out and bought a bunch (yes, a small bunch, but a bunch) of chickens. And we started reading and posting here almost every day. Suddenly Rick started to talk about getting some more chickens. And reading more info on the board. And telling me about it. Today we went out and bought another bunch (small bunch) of chickens. Since they are new chicks, meat type, they have to be kept separate from our other chicks, the ones in the new coop up north. No problem, these are now in the brooder and Rick will make them a playpen so they can go outside soon. Oh, but wait. No matter that I said many times that I wouldn't get any of those noisy ugly guineas, there were some in a tub and they looked so lonely that I bought 3 of them too. About 3 weeks old. Of course they can't go in the brooder with the Vantress, and they can't go in the coop with the others, so they are now in a big rubbermaid tote. Once they are older I'll gradually introduce them to the rest. And then there is the issue of food. The Vantress eat different food than the RIR and BR. Until tomorrow when we get back up north the guineas are having to eat the broiler feed because that's where the chick starter feed and the scratch feed is. WE now have 15 RIR, 2 BR 15 Vantress, and 3 guineas. So, why did we make our lives just a little more complicated? Because chickens are cool! As I said, someone here is messing with our minds, wanting us to buy more chickens, LOL.

Those little fuzzy butts are actually aliens here to take over the world. They control our minds and spread their evil through the eggs we eat. They are in control and we have no power over them. The only problem they had was getting people to get their first little fuzzy butt. They over came the problem by creating BYC where they gain control of our brains and the addiction starts. They are here to stay. We are their slaves, feeding, watering, building their homes, raising their children and recruiting new slaves.

Be warned: Fuzzy Butt Fever is incurable and in it's later stages mutates into Fuzzy Butt Zombification. Symptoms may improve for short time periods directly following each invasion of Fuzzy Butts. Do not be fooled your symptoms will return every time and become more severe with each bout. Studies continue to find a cure however it does not look promising. All the scientists were infected and have subsequently started chicken farms.

Edited to add.....This virus appears to be HIGHLY contagious. It knows no bounds, young, old, rich and poor alike are all affected.

This is all true. It is HIGHLY HIGHLY contageous!!!! And you will also quickly become a HATCHAHOLIC, and there are no meetings or rehabilitation programs for hatchaholics, because we are all so proud of it, and try to get others to become hatchaholics with us. They say the first step is admitting we have a problem...we can all do that...the next step is wanting to make a change....I can not speak for others but I want to make a change...I have 2 bators...FULL of eggs, 1 is hatching now. Ive got eggs in the mail as we speak, and sending out more money orders tomorrow...thats rediculous!! I HAVE GOT TO MAKE A CHANGE!! All those eggs will never fit in my 2 bators!!!!! I AM GETTING ANOTHER ONE!!! Hey, I didnt say what kind of change I was making, just that I wanted a change!

It's terminal too...not only will you have feathers everywhere, but you may get a favourite and you'll carry her around and one day you won't be able to put her down and she'll have her own plate and her own place at the table so she won't have to filch off of your plate and you'll buy diapers for her so that she doesn't "go" all over the house and you'll buy her a leash to take her out for fresh air and a drive and a trip to McD;s for her own order of fries...
