I can only pick one? If I try to pick just one favorite, my brain may very well explode...
Also Sprach Zarathustra... you know it as the sunrise fanfare from 2001: A Space Odyssey
Hallelujah- written by Leonard Cohen, but love the Bon Jovi cover
Seasons of Love from Rent
Lacrimosa by Kalafina (yeah, it's anime music. I'm a nerd and proud of it.)
The entire soundtrack of How to Train Your Dragon (Best. Movie. Ever.)
Love this Pain by Lady Antebellum
Lioness Hunt from the Lion King stage production
If Today was Your Last Day by Nickelback
Did You Call Me Albatross? and One Last Drink by Enter the Haggis...
...And that list comes after extensive cutting. I've got waaay too many favorites... Hehe.
Almost impossible for me to choose just one favorite song! I absolutely LOVE the work of Japanese composer Yoko Kanno and I love so many of her songs that it's difficult to narrow it down to less than a few hundred.
I flew all the way to Japan last year just to see her in concert, and it was completely and totally worth it.
But if I have to choose, I suppose my top favorites would be:
Among a LOT of others. It's almost impossible for me to stop there! I highly recommend everyone check her stuff out, she writes music from just about every genre, in many different languages, and her music is incredibly beautiful, deep, and amazing.
She writes rock, pop, jazz, orchestral music, piano solos, country, choral music, opera, stuff that can't even be classified, all kinds of other music.
So hard to pick one favorite but mine has to be "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra. Sounds goofy I know and I don't listen to that much older music, I just love Frank Sinatra.
Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On a-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, baby , kiss me
Fill my heart with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you
Fill my heart with song
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, in other words
I love ... you
Song as in singular? I can't even choose a favorite genre, much less a single artist in that genre and from there a favorite song from a single artist in a single genre. Entirely too schiz... err... clectic... yeah... Eclectic... that's it.
