Whats YOUR Dog's Name?

Rescue Pit/Lab mix = Austin Power Jaws
Lab/Broder mix= (can we say hyper) Tobey
New to the family as of yesterday Baby Great Pryenees = Zoe

Meet Besa! We rescued her when she was a year and a half old. We kept her name because it sounded cool, and in Spanish it means "kiss." After getting to know her though, I'm not sure why they named her that because she never licks!

We have had a few dogs (these are the ones just since I've been alive):

Cody - (black) Newfoundland - purebred, I believe. Don't really remember him, but in pics that I've seen he was a very beautiful dog. Been told he was exceptionally good with us kids (we were under a couple years when we had Cody).

Zeus - (black) Collie mix. I believe he was partly Lab. Zeusy was my best friend and was VERY sorry to see him go.

Xena - (a dark reverse brindle) Neopolitan Mastiff - also a purebred. "Z" was a VERY good dog, too, and my sister's baby and everyone else's sweetheart.

Ali - (brown and white) genuine Mutt. We were told Al was a Dalmation/Lab mix, but I've always thought she might have Pointer or Spaniel in her (the new vet thought so, too.) A very hyper dog, but a sweetheart, nonetheless.

Sorry no pics. The only ones I have are prints and I don't have a way to get them on the computer.

My first was Siska - purebred Siberian Husky and my baby. Went every where with me. Slept in my bed during college - she let me have the pillow, she got the rest of the bed! :)

Then we adopted Pooka from the pound. She was going to be Jem, but she took off and hid in the woods for 3 days when we brought her home from the shelter. She then became Spook until it was pointed out that a black lab named spook was not politically correct - so she became Pooka. And she was our animal spirit and lived with us for 12 years until she has a seizure and died last Fedruary, doing what she loved best - begging for kitchen scraps.

Now we have Hondo and Pistol Pete - aka Pistol (or sometines Squirt because he is so much smaller than our Irish Setter).
Hondo is a purebred Irish Setter who is 9 years old and 78 pounds. Pistol is a purebred English Setter that we got when he was 10 months old, we were his 5th owners. He was shipped to Wyoming from Texas, and ended up in the local shelter for reasons unknown. He was adopted three times, taken back twice and the third guy sold him to me for $100 because he didn't have enough room for such a hyper dog in town. I have 10 acres and have 1 acre fenced for the dogs to play in all day.

This is Hondo playing in his sheep tank with Pistol sitting on my foot looking for attention. They love their water tank!
