I love just about everything I hear.

The first concert I ever saw was when I was 14. I saw Jefferson Airplane and John Mayall, together.

If you asked me today, my favorite artist would be Watermelon Slim and George THoroughgood, LOL. I also like Big Lucky these days and Ten Years After.

I like a lot of the alternative rock, like the Decemberists and things like that. I like OK Go.

For rap I am old school but I just don't have enough mileage with some of the newer performers - I'd probably like a lot of them too. I love that Queen Latifa, Tone Loc. SO hopelessly back in the day I am, LOL.

I have a horrible addiction for old motown music. I just LOVE IT LOVE IT. Smokey, the Pips, all that. I just love that stuff.

Then I have ALL the old non-pop sixties and seventies and eighties....and nineties....music. SO for example, Talking Heads, Jefferson Airplane (NOT starship, too poppy), Grateful Dead, the Byrds and all the way into the country rock like the Doobie Brothers (THE DOOBS, MAN!), New Riders, Little Feat, The Band, and all that. If it shades into blues, I'm fine.

Another absolute favorite that I would go anywhere to hear is Leon Redbone. I also very much like Dr. John. Some people only know his hit record and nothing about the incredible piano playing he can do or the historical research he's done. He's like a walking museum.

I ALSO have a horrible addiction to old fashioned blues. Once one of my friends listened to it and said, 'Good lord, it sounds like an old man on his back porch' - I Said well YEAH!! LOL. There, I am all for ALL the old blues masters. There just isn't one I don't like. Not one. Son House, Howlin' Wolf(I just DIE, LOL), John Lee Hooker, all that, as well as reaching back further to the people THEY learned from.

I ALSO am mad about John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.

I love the Chicago Sound - Muddy Waters, etc.

I LOVE OPERA - THERE, I SAID IT! While I'm not very knowledgeable on it and only really have heard some of the rock stars of Opera, like Carreras, LOVE IT.

I LOVE JAZZ - YEAH! I was raised on Brubeck.

I...ALSO...LOVE...CLASSICAL MUSIC!!!! Again, not very knowledgeable, I have drifted my way through without picking up a lot of stats or knowledge. But love it. Ravel, Grieg, St Saens, many, many more.

I do like country music an awful lot, but not the poppy stuff, and I tend to gravitate toward the older stuff - Bill Monroe.

I absolutely love Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. I don't know if he fits into any category. Check youtube for his 'Big Country' or 'Hoe Down'.

And I like swing (Reinhardt), folk music (many artists) AND world music (Special interest in Classical and Folk music of India, Turkey and Romania). There just isn't much I don't like!
