Honestly, all the chicken books I've read seem to be way too much "my way is the best" and base very firm authoritative recommendations on, er, basically personal opinion and personal taste.

Gail Damerow's book at least does address some different ways of raising chickens.

But honestly, I think the best thing is to read them ALL. Seriously
