What's your favorite non-chicken/duck/goose bird?

We have cardinals all year long here, my son just loves them. I like the goldfinches myself

Hummingbirds. For the little bit (okay, lota bit) of sugar water we provide them they give us hours of entertainment in return.

I like Barn Swallows how they swoop and dive. One got in our house one time took forever to catch her because we have high vaulted ceilings. I also like Peregrine Falcons because of their speed.

There is nothing more breathtaking than seeing the majesty of a Bald Eagle flying up the river valley.

I also love those messy barn swallows and the humming birds.

How can you choose just one?

I love them all (except for the invasive species and jerks like cowbirds), but I suppose if I had to choose, I pick killdeer. They're everywhere around here, and they have such great personality. It's always fun to find a nest. My aunt found a nest in her drive once, and until the eggs hatched and the birds left, she had it marked and forced everyone coming and going to drive through the field when they reached that section, lest they run over the eggs. My uncle didn't appreciate having to drive through the hayfield for the killdeer's sake, but he would have felt just as bad as the rest of us if anything had happened to them.
