What's your most expensive or rarest bird?

Hmmm 🤔 As far as chickens, I think the most expensive we've had so far was probably one of the birds we got at the Ohio National. We got a blue orp hen and a blue ameraucana cockerel (I want to say we got a black ameraucana pullet too, but I don't remember). I don't remember how much we paid, but probably around $20.

My "rarest" is probably my cookies and cream pullet from Meyer

The cookies and cream are a hatchery exclusive hybrid, so you can only get them directly from Meyer. Not super rare, but I can get any of the other "breeds" I have from other sources.

The rarest and most expensive bird I've ever owned is my orange winged Amazon parrot. We paid around $600 for her 25 years ago. She currently lives with my MIL.

She's beautiful!

@Luv Ducks , you're lucky to be getting wood ducks. The males are a truly one of the most striking birds I've ever seen.
Yes I am very fortunate that I still am able to work every day and be able to afford them. Hubby really missed our little female that was called Woody too so he had not problem with me adding to my small flock of ducks. I only have 22 right now, lol. Talk about addictions, I have one with ducks for sure. I used to go to Duck Anonymous meetings but got thrown out because they said there was no hope for me, lol.

I am naming them Romeo and Juliet.

Likely some of my adult silkies/showgirls.
I brought them from out of state so combine their price with transport costs and the fact the transport company killed a few in the process ( :hmm ). They're likely the ones I've spent the most on but I don't remember the actual price off the top of my head.
Next may be my Valley quail, I think I paid $140 for two pairs, which is pretty cheap for them and they're not very easy to find where I live.

I have never purchased adult ducks before so I am praying that mine come to me safe and sound this week.
