i have a few bags of wheat berries that we got from our CSA this past spring. Can I give them to the chickens? Can they handle the whole grain, or should it be sprouted or cooked first (my husband thinks I'm crazy--cooking for the chickens!).

Oh dear- I'd be searching for whole wheat bread recipes that use the berries as well. I used to work in a bakery that sold 100% whole wheat bread with wheat berries- it was heavenly!

On to chickens? I'd sprout them first, and do it all winter or until you run out. Fresh greens in the winter, yum.

I buy wheat berries, both to sprout and to grow wheatgrass. It's super nutritious and my chickens love it!
