wheat bran fodder

I got a big brown bag of wheat bran at tractor supply to make fodder for my chickens. Did I buy the wrong thing?

Yes. There is no seed to sprout.

I bought a big bag too because I was going to do mealworms but the climate isn't right here in Colorado from what I hear so....what can I do with it?? Any suggestions?

You can mix it with their feed.

Something has to be a viable whole seed to grow into a plant. Bran is only part of the wheat grain. It's missing the germ and endosperm surrounded by the bran.
