Yes, I have done that. It is quite good for them! Very dusty though, which is why I stopped buying it. You can wet the bottom of the barrel when it gets down to that and give a nice mash from it. Just be careful as i know with horses it is not great in large quantities as it is really low in calcium which if its laying hens could cause shell problems...make sure you have some oyster shell out for them...
Yup! I do. I usually mix the bran into leftover oatmeal to feed it. I also add the powdered crumbles into oatmeal so the chickens get all the feed I've bought.
