Can I just broadcast the wheat into the field the chickens have dug up and water well? Do I need to till the ground first? I don't have a tiller.
I would be keeping the chickens off the field that I sow the wheat into.

Here is a link to the article I read about this, just incase you want to read it yourself:

Basically, you need a good soil to seed contact for wheat to grow well. Alot of farmers are going to braodcast seeding (throwing seed out on the surface of the soil) but then they lightly till to incorporate the seed into the soil.

Maybe if the soil is loose, you can broadcast the seed then drag the field to get the soil mixed over it a bit.
