Well, we have three Wheaten Ameraucana chicks...two of them have turned fairly brown, and I was wondering if that means they're actually roos (all the pictures I've found of Wheaten Ameraucana roosters show beautiful black and russet fellows....not at all cream colored like the hens, right?) Then when I was looking closely at their combs yesterday, it seems like maybe all three of them have the raised center ridge. No blue eggs for me???
Here are some photos I took yesterday.
Two of them are facing off on the left...see how brown the one in the foreground is?
More pictures of the brown feathering....
Another shot of the brown feathers
Okay, comb shot of Bob
Comb shot of Peep
Side shot of Sunny
Another front picture of Sunny
I was hoping that Sunny, who is a pretty blue/cream color, might turn out to be a hen, but now I'm thinking she might be a blue wheaten roo instead?
