Wheels on a tractor here's how.

Four 3/4" pillow block bearings, two lawn mower tires from Home Depot, the bar and plate was from Army surplus, two clothes hooks from hardware store, and bolts and washers to put it all together.

Here is a close up with the wheels off so you can see how it goes together.

The big bolt goes through the bearings, plate and rod. This is where it all pivots.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I am going to build one like this for my new chicks for when they are big enough for outings. What are the overall dimensions of yours?

We use 9" tires on ours and I wonder if DH could make this work on his big M*A*S*H tractors. I get so tired of having to wait until he can help me put the tires on it to move. My small tractors are so much easier, even without wheels on them. But the ones shown here may be good for a few of my smaller tractors.
Thanks for the photos! I am so visual.

Thanks - that gives me some perspective. What about the dimensions of the tractor itself - it's footprint? I am wondering how big a tractor the wheel apparatus supports and moves.

It's 6'X10'. It would probably be close to 150 lbs. when it's done. Construction is on hold because it's snowing today!
