We have 6 nine week old chicks. I noticed one is making a different sound than the other 5 yesterday. I also thought this particular "pullet" may be a cockerel because the bottom glands are a bright red color. Anyway fast forward to this morning and this chick is lying in the corner of the pen, wheezing, salivating a little, beak wide open. Seems like it is having difficulty breathing. The other girls seem to be pecking around like normal but this one seems to be struggling a little. Can anyone help me diagnose this chick?
