Wheezy has a wired growth on her leg! Help!

So during summer, I noticed that one of our chickens had a wired thing on her leg. Someone said that they thought it was fine, so we didn’t do anything. We checked on it on Sunday and it was still there. However, when we just looked at, it was gone and there was blood In it’s place with a scab. It seems to be walking just fine and acting the same. Could it have been scabbing from Scaly Leg Mites?

I'd clean the wound with Betadine or Chlorhexidine, then apply a thin layer of triple antibiotic ointment on the leg. Work the ointment into the front of the leg and feet too.

I'd either put the ointment or use some vaseline on the other leg/foot as well, working it into and under the scales.

Keep her on clean dry bedding.

Do you see any lice or mites on her body too - under the wings, around the vent?
