When a hen is about to lay an egg, will she make any special sound ???

My hen is making some really weird sound, will she lay an egg

It depends on the sound, but they're definitely quite loud! I didn't expect my hens to be louder than my roosters, but they sure are. Just make sure they know where they nesting boxes are and that they're in a more private place for your hens - they should figure out where to lay soon. Mine all insist on sharing the same nest in my eggplant plant and ignore the nesting boxes, so I get to hear them screaming at each other to get out of the nest for about 3-4 hours each day. After they lay, they should scream out their little egg songs, too.

Many hens getting close to laying will become very vocal, so if she's louder it could be she's close.

I've also learned, not all will do the "egg song" It's a good thing my Chicken House isn't too far from the house, make several trips to check during the day.
