When and how to introduce nest boxes

I have six four month old pullets and one possible roo and I would appreciate any info on when and how to introduce some nest boxes into the coop. Thanks!

Just put the boxes in the coup and fill it with plenty of hay straw leaves make it fluffy and soft they will figure it out and put some fake eggs or gulf balls in there the hens will use it when they are ready don't let the roo in it its for the ladies only If they start laying eggs on the ground I always make that spot uncomfortable by laying wire on the floor they eventually get the hint and lay in the boxes . You might get two hens in one nest or one hen that thinks the all the nest are hers they will figure it out their self's. I have one hen that brags about the egg that another hen lays. She thinks all the eggs are hers . She jumps from one nest to another and takes the credit. With all that fuss she don't lay her egg till 5 pm .
