Right I have 3 chickens . First one is male 13 weeks and has been outside on his own . Then I have two little ones at 7 weeks . One female and unfortunately one male who will have to be rehomed. My question it do I just put my little female in with my older male and leave them to it ?

I would put then together when they are about the same size or as close as they can get..

When I have new chickens I build a small pen for them to get used to the new environment I use a portable gate you can get from any home supply store. I attach it a small coop of have.

The newbies live in this little area for a while. Part of the reason is to quarantine them until I know they are disease free and also to see and hear the main flock. Both usually check the other out for a while.

After a couple of weeks, depending on the age, I remove the temporary set up and everyone seems OK as they have had time to familiarize themselves.

Well after days of introducing I thought I'd take the plunge and put her in with him . I put in the middle of the run a large cardboard box which kind of freaked him out . The idea been i wanted to give her something to run around if she needed it . Any way it worked out better so far as I think he thinks it's so different and accepted her into his run no problem so far
