Although I wanted to experience it the hard way ever since reading Laura ingalls wilder and attending western films as a child! I was raised on a non-working farm in Riga NY & my brother & I played cowboys & Indians or pioneers all the time. My childhood home IS from those days, was built in 1808 & is now in Genesee Country Museum in Mumford NY. It is fun to learn abt my fellow chicken-moms.
