When can coturnix quail produce their own body heat?

I have 2 coturnix quail chicks, 1 week old, when will they produce their own body heat? I am planning to put them in the backyard.

They will need to be under a heat lamp until they are fully feathered. It will take a few more weeks. You do have a pen for them once they are ready, correct? Away from any chickens that may be on the property?
