When can ducklings go swimming?

I have a couple 4 day old ducklings and I was wondering when I could let them swim. It would be very shallow, I was thinking a painting trough or a couple of inches of water in the bath tub with some resting spots. I would only allow them for a couple of minutes and then dry them off. What’s the best time to do this?

Those ideas sound good as long as they can get back under the heat lamp soon after so they don't get too chilled. I think mine were a week old when i started letting them dip in a shallow pan.

I don't think it's necessary. Just be super careful as they can drown. I recommend that it only be a few minutes at a time so they don't wear out.

Mine were in at a few days old, then I blow dried them, be exceptionally careful not to burn them, but mine loved it.

I used a paint roller tray, plastic. they loved that. They were about a week old though.
