when can I be Sure?

Okay! here is the deal I have three roosters ... Blackie , Roscoe and Fred . I have removed all three from then Hen House . .I want Roscoe to be the Dad to the new flock ! How long must I wait ? My 77 year old Mother Swears that where all three were with them in January it will be any of them until next year . Help...

X 2 - a hen *can* store sperm from a rooster for a good while, but not nearly the year your mother is thinking. Generally speaking, a month is a good period to wait to be fairly certain things have cleared out.
