I have 5 hens.they are about 6 months old I have heard that during the winter months they don't lay as well we are at the end of September almost.so what month can I expect to see the change where I wont get 5 eggs a day.i only got 4 today.i don't plan to give them no extra light this winter.i believe that they should lay eggs naturally does that sound like ok .I am new at chicken raising.

In my opinion they are all different, I have Red stars and they have yet to slow down during any weather chance. They are 1 1/2 years old. I think I read somewhere that they slow down at around 3 or 4 years old. I do agree with you and like to let nature take its course so I don't create any fake lighting.
