when can i get my chick of chick starter and give it real food i have baby food still can i replace that with the baby food?

Chicks need chick starter/grower until they start laying, that's when you can swap to layer mash/crumbles/pellets.

and onto layer pellets at about 8 weeks.

Being a pet doesn't change nutritional needs. Unless you're willing and able to formulate a balanced diet for your chick, stick to the commercial feed.

Chick starter is "real food." It is made from grains and legumes with added vitamins, etc., for optimum nutrition. You can offer your chicks treats (make sure they have access to grit/sand) but it should be a very small part of their diet.

I'm guessing that's a typo and you meant layer feed at 18 weeks. 8 is much too young.
