When can I feed slugs to my ducklings?

We just picked up our three Welsh Harlequin ducklings, our first time ever with birds. I'm itchin' to get them after slugs, and I'm willing to do some picking first, but I don't want to hurt them, either (the ducks, not the slugs). About how old should my ducklings be before I can throw 'em some tasty slugs and snails?

I gave my khaki a worm when she was a week old. That poor worm didn't stand a chance

I say go ahead with the slugs after a week. I would wait on the snails.
