when can I let chicks out in the yard with hen

I have five 2-4 day old chicks and I was wondering when I could let them roam in the back yard for a while, supervised of course. They are in a crate in our greenhouse and I can tell mama hen wants to scratch around. Should I wait a few more days?

You can let them out with mama......just keep your eye out for any trouble. She should keep them safe though.

absolutely let them out - their momma will do a great job knowing what they need. Mine are out on day 1.

Thanks for the info. They are going out asap, that is when I can get some help carrying the crate out
