When can I sex my turkeys?

I have I have 2 week old BB Turkeys. I ordered straight run. At what point will I be able to tell how many toms and how many hens I have? I am just wondering. We have many wild turkeys in our area and my boys keep asking how many of ours will fan out like the big toms they see. Thanks in advance for any help.

As a side note I must add that this turkey adventure has been great fun. We really have enjoyed the turkeys alot. They have wonderful personalities! We did lose two out of the 15 that we got. I did not think that was too bad considering how concerned I was after doing all my research.

You'll start noticing differences in them as they get older. By about 2-3 months you should be able to tell for almost sure.

In the young jake poults look for....

- Bigger snood (bump at top of beak)

- Bigger feet and thicker legs

- Faster growth bigger in size

Again none of these are 100% but should get ya close on the guessing end. Always fun guessing how many you got and then when they grow up and see who was right, around here we make bets on it, gets real competitive sometimes.
