when can I start to feed scraps?

My flock of RIR are 6 weeks old now.I need to know when I can start feeding scraps from the table and what is best to start with.Thanks:D

Wait until your girls are much bigger and be very careful they don;t get many, they need the protein level from the commercial feed to develop normally.

Chicks are pretty single-minded about their feed. Lettuce can be of interest early on but lowering protein levels shouldn't come too soon, as Lynne says.

Along about 8 weeks, they start to become teen-age adventuresome. Now they are willing to try new tastes and big enuf to break things up - some. You've got to be in control, however. At 8 weeks they may look fairly big but they've still got months and months of growing to do.
