when can i switch there feed over?

My chicks are around 7 weeks old and they are eating machines! When can i start giving them scratch or laying pellets?

You can start giving them layer at around 4 or 5 months.

You can give them scratch sooner. Just remember that scratch is not feed! It has very little nutritional value.

Don't give them layer feed until they start laying eggs. The excess calcium is not good for chicks. It's bad for the kidneys.

The chicks are growing very fast so they needs lots of nutrition of the starter or grower feed. You can give them a few treats, like scrambled or hard boiled eggs, plain yogurt, etc but keep it to a minimum. Chick scratch is like candy, so just a little bit.
