I have two week old BobWhite in a brooder tank in my stock room. They are quite the escape artists so I now have the top nicely covered (I had no clue they could fly at this age). Its still pretty warm here 90's during the day but it has been getting down into the 50's at night. When are quail ready to go to their outside pen? I don't put my chickens out until around six weeks but this is my first experience raising quail.

I am new to quail, but I put my 2 week old bobs and coturnix(in separate pens) outside, granted my nighttime temps are in the lower 80's. I also placed a brooder lamp on one end of the run just in case they needed any warmth.

Bobs Are Alot More Cold Sensitive As Babies/ Juveniles Than Coturnix... 50's Is Pretty Cold

. Best Thing To Do Is Slowly Wean Them Down To Ambient Temperatures Starting The Weaning Process At About 4 Wks Of Age (remember These Guys Grow And Mature Alot Slower Than Coturnix!). With 50's At Night For 2 Wk Olds I Would Definately Offer Them A Heat Source During The Nighttime Hours At The End Of The Weaning Process
