High Desert of California
My first Cornish x batch are 22 days old. Some are mostly feathered and some are not as feathered. I live in the higher desert of CA and last week we were 108-110 and this week the high 90's. They don't strike me as heat tolerant but I can't stand them in the garage anymore and they will need more room soon. I planned on moving them to a prediter proof 16x16 barn stall with access to a small run with fresh air and bugs etc no grass available just shavings in the barn and sand in the run.....I am worried about them getting too hot. Our forecast for the next week is high 90's with a low's in the low 60's but am worried we will get REALLY hot again before we process them....I have a large fan I could put on them but wondered about misters though question the bacteria growth in that scenario....all help and points of view are appreciated thanks ☀️

P.s next year I will get them much earlier in the season.

I have broilers about the same age for a 4h project with my kids we made a big brooder in the garage... omg they are messy and stinky! However our garage gets warmer in the day then outside, so I'm wondering about the fan thing too... I freeze water bottles and put them in the brooder they lay next to them to cool off... our temps here in Michigan are about 80-90 during the day and 60-70 at night
