I'm tired of cleaning around the marbles.

What type of waterer do you have? If you have the regular red bottom and plastic top quart waterer I'd take them out unless you have chicks at risk of drowning. If you have a dish of water (easier to drown in) I'm not sure but I'd leave them in for at least a week...

we have the gal. waterer and removed marbles around 1 1/2 weeks....I agree, it is a pain to clean around them 3 to 4 times a day!

I would leave it in there for awhile. I had a very small chick that died last night. She was found this morning in the water. It was one of those small plastic bottles with a red bottom. I guess she fell in and was too weak to get out. I also use a bowl with marbles and it gets really dirty.

How deep is your water dish? Can they easily walk out of it? Just fill the water 1/2 to 1 " deep, chickens don't mind sucking from shallow waters.

They are 5 days old (hatched Wed am and Thurs am)

I have the quart top with the red bottom pressure fed with the marbles inside the red part.

I'll leave them in. Thanks
