When can we hold them - When can they join the others?

We have a silkie who has hatched 4 chicks (not hers) and they are all in a small closed off area and seem to be doing well. I was wondering when it is safe to hold the chicks and also how and when to let them out into the big wide open. We have 5 other hens along with a few goats and cats that all live peacefully together in the same area. Thank you for you insights.

Well you can hold em if the mamma hen lets you,also take em out and see how well it goes while you supervise.The momma hen should protect her chicks from everyone else.

My 7 yr old was holding our Day olds, and one thought it was a dentist, and started pecking at his TEETH! It was hilarious. You just have to be careful, because they're fragile.. and they can get cold quickly. Have fun!
