I put golf balls in the nests. Mine aren't broody but a few times I hid a golf ball in their nests and when I went out to collect the eggs the ball was with the eggs.
After five consecutive nights of going out and moving my girls I went out last night and 3 of my 8 hens were sleeping on the right roost. Tonight will be the 7th consecutive night. I can't wait to see if more of them will be in the right spot when I go out there.
On a different note, I'm still getting 1-3 eggs on the ground below the roost every day. Grrr...
