I plan on just letting these birds live out their lives before getting new ones. There are a few other breeds that I want, but I just look at their pictures. I think eight is enough for me to take care of, lol! But I just was wondering what other peoples experience is with the egg laying. I have heard that chickens live for 10 or 12 years.Mine stay around and live out their lives. Some longer than others. We occasionally butcher an extra rooster if necessary, but otherwise I like older birds. They add wisdom, and stability to my large flock.
