I remember a few years ago, my parents had a baby possum that had wandered out from under the nest under their front porch. We were checking it out, mainly because it was just laying there and not moving. My mom kept saying, "Don't touch it, it may be sick!" So to keep it safe from the ferrel cats in the neighborhood until we could figure out what to do, we covered it with an old milk crate.. a few minutes later, I went back to check on it, and it was gone! I said, "I wonder if something took it, since it was obviously dying or too sick to move.." and my Dad piped up and said, "You women are such city girls... don't you know it was PLAYING POSSUM until you left!"
DUH!

I loved it! Many years ago a new neighbor came to our house very late at night in a complete panic! He said he had one of the biggest rats he had ever seen in his garbage can and wanted to know if we could help him. It was a possum. lol.

What a hoot!
I saw one similar a few years back that was just the opposite
"When country folk come to the city" it was a picture of a HUGE rat...
