One of my hens was broken from her urge of Broodiness. It has been a week now since my BA was placed in a dog crate with the screen on her bottom elevated from the ground to break her broodiness. She has now joined the flock but has not laid an egg yet since then. When will she start laying eggs again?

I want to say it took mine 1 to 1 1/2 weeks to start laying, but im sure all hens are different.

Usually about 2 weeks, some longer. I have one hen that after she gives up on her own walks around for about a month calling imaginary chicks to goodies she finds and then sits in the corner of the coop and purrs like she has chicks under her. Poor thing, good thing there is not a mental health care facility for chickens or she would be committed by Mouch the roo because in that state of mind she wants nothing to do with him.

Thank you for all your input. I guess two weeks isn't that long.

It's been over a month now since I broke my hen from broodiness and she has yet to start laying again. Her disposition has changed to where she use to be very friendly and now won't hardly let me touch her. :(
